Johan August Strindberg
THE FATHER
The characters' marriage life in this Strindberg’s play is like a never-ending struggle for influence and power in the family. The reason of fighting (or at least the excuse) is the child's upbringing. Is it a war, where all means are acceptable? Or is it simply a human inability / unwillingness to understand each other? Masculine power in the family turns out to be more fragile than female weakness.
