In the performance “My poor Marat” Alvis Hermanis, together with the young at the time actors, was looking for answers to the questions of A. Arbuzov’s characters: how to live the life? Can a real man do without love? Director Māra Ķimele is developing the theme once started, no longer calling into question the need for love, but looking for the ways to recognize and save it. This is what the play “Five Evenings” by Alexandr Volodin is about.

After the war and lengthy absence, a young man comes to St. Petersburg. He arrives to meet his past and his love.
