LENIN’S LAST CHRISTMAS PARTY
(After notes and diaries of 1923 by Lenin’s nursing assistants)
The production of "Lenin's last Christmas party" is based on historical documents about Lenin's disease and the last moments of his life under the guardianship of the Latvian riflemen. Shortly before Lenin's death, a mythical Christmas celebration was organized for local children and adults: nobody knows what happened in reality, but in the show this social event unfolds in the phantasmagoria of the death scenes of the leader of the revolution. These scenes introduce the ritual set up by security guard Peteris Pakalns for worship of Lenin's mummy in Mausoleum. (U.Tīrons)
