BLACK MILK/2024

It's been 15 years since BLACK MILK was staged at the New Riga Theatre. It shows that theatre does not always have to be based on destruction and conflict. It can also be about harmony and beauty, albeit sadness. A visually poetic production, where choreography and documentary Latvian stories speak in the language of metaphors about the lost paradise we all come from and only vaguely remember.
At that time, the show toured many countries – from Europe to Latin America - and this poetic story about the Latvian connection with nature and the cosmos became universal and understandable even far away from Latvia.
Now we have created a new version of this play – the same, but updated and improved. Because from the perspective of 2024, this too has changed.
